These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SimpliYoked mobile application ("App") operated by SimpliYoked ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use SimpliYoked. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. Account Registration

To use SimpliYoked, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

3. Paired Accounts

SimpliYoked is designed for use by couples. When you invite a partner and they accept:

  • Both accounts are linked as a "couple" within the App
  • Both partners have shared access to couple content (tasks, notes, goals, date nights, roadmap)
  • Either partner may create, edit, or delete shared content
  • You are responsible for inviting only individuals who consent to being paired with you

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Impersonate another person or create an account on behalf of someone without their consent
  • Attempt to access another couple's data or circumvent security measures
  • Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm another person
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App (notes, goals, check-in responses, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the App and providing its features to you and your paired partner.

We do not claim ownership of your content. We do not use your content for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond operating the App.

6. Partner Invitations

When you send a partner invitation through the App, you represent that:

  • You have the consent of the person you are inviting
  • The contact information you provide (email or phone number) belongs to the intended recipient
  • You will not use the invitation feature to send unsolicited messages

7. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as course content or external resources). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by SimpliYoked and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings page. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Upon account deletion:

  • Your personal data will be permanently deleted
  • Shared couple data will be retained for your partner's continued use, unless both partners delete their accounts

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

SimpliYoked is a relationship tool, not a substitute for professional counseling, therapy, or medical advice. If you are experiencing relationship difficulties, we encourage you to seek professional support.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SimpliYoked shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of content, or interruption of service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
