Here's what they have to say to:

All Couples

What the Experts Say:

Gay Hendricks, a psychologist and renowned relationship expert, on the Modern Wisdom podcast recommends couples have two 10-15 minute meetings each week. One for "heart talk" and another for "the other stuff."

Jordan Peterson echoes this wisdom in his marriage video series: "You have to talk to your wife at least 90 minutes a week about how the domestic economy is progressing." He's talking about keeping the house in order, managing tasks, and checking in on the kids…a board meeting for your life together as a team.

How We Do It:

Grace and I have implemented something similar in our marriage. Every Sunday night, we have a 10-15 minutes meeting.

Here's mainly what we cover:

  • How did last week go?
  • What's on our schedule this week?
  • What small goals are we each working toward?
  • Is there anything we need to align on?

The whole purpose? Get back on the same page together. It’s about having a simple structure that helps you stay connected and aligned as one.
