A note from Brittney:

As a young high school girl, I longed for my “soul-mate” and the butterfly feelings of what life would look like as a married woman. You watch enough Rom-Com movies to become obsessed with planning a wedding! 😂

But what God has placed on my heart as I have navigated the true Biblical meaning for marriage, is that I cannot go to a sappy movie to get an accurate picture of what marriage should be.

As a spouse, I am a “helper.” Genesis 2:18 reads “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him.” I wish long ago, someone would have told young high school Brittney that she wasn’t looking for a soul-mate. She was already given the love of Jesus, her true soul-mate. She would not be made “complete” by a man. She was already made complete in Christ!

So what is our role as spouses then? To be HELPERS to one another, to love each other sacrificially (as Christ has loved us), and to be on mission together to spread the love of Jesus to impact His Kingdom.

It all points back to Jesus my friends!
